Square Cakes... Don't be scared :p
When I started making cakes, I wanted absolutely NOTHING to do with square cakes. So I promise you, I know the fear and stress they can cause. ;) But don’t worry, you’ve got this!
As with most things, all it takes is some practice.
Here’s a video of how to make and decorate a square cake from a round cake. Let’s gooo!
The video doesn’t show how I cut the cake to make a square but it’s pretty easy.
Take your round cake that’s been filled and stacked and cut the ends to make a square. Then go to the video and follow along. It’s gonna be a little messy but the more you practice, the better your cake decorating will be.
And, by the way, the added benefit of making a square cake from a round cake is that you’ll have a good amount of cake scrapes to make cake pops or cake balls with! #winning
